Have you been practicing the techniques you've learned in your Conquer classes using Photoshop Elements? Are you just dying to show off your work? Well, here's your chance. In just a few short days, we'll begin the "I Conquered" photo contest.
Submit as many as three (3) entries per person for a chance to win a FREE Conquer your Computer class. And if that's not enough, be a guest contributor to a future Conquer class. Your winning entry will be taught to the students so they can learn the techniques used to create your masterpiece. Interested?
Here's how to participate. Submit your photo creation in JPG format to me at conqueryourcomputer@yahoo.com. I will need the original photo (the "before" photo) as well. Please keep your entry to less than 5mb in size. Keep the layered PSD file, just in case you're a winner. I will need it for class.
Contest entries will be accepted from November 9th through November 19th. All entries will be posted on the blog on November 20th and voting will begin. Blog visitors and a special guest photographer will vote and the winner will be announced on the blog December 1st.
Official Rules: The "I Conquered" contest is limited to those students only who have attended a Conquer Your Computer class. Non-student entries will not be accepted. A maximum of three (3) entries per person will be accepted. Entries must be submitted via email and must contain the original "before" photo and the photo creation "after" photo in JPG format (not to exceed 5mb in size). With the holidays quickly approaching, I thought it would be a good time to present some photo greeting card ideas. In Thursday's class, you'll not only learn how to create your own photo greeting cards but you'll receive 5 layered PSD files on your Conquer CD. All you'll need to do is add photos and print. You can check that "to do" off your list. Here are some examples...

As promised, here are a few examples of the projects that we'll be working on this weekend. After teaching Conquer 2 for the past 2 years, I'm excited to be teaching a more advanced class. Conquer 3 will take you steps further in understanding how to create amazing photo creations. I'm looking forward to seeing you soon!
In Conquer 2, learn to restore old photos. These same techniques will also work to repair current photos, remove blemishes, "thin" a person and so much more.
Convert a color photo to black & white, adjust the contract and add a border to the edge.
As an added bonus, learn the steps to creating a one-of-a-kind photo slide show. Add your favorite music to add that special memory. To top it all off, learn to burn to CD or DVD or transfer to a file format that can easily be played on your own computer.
Introducing Conquer 3; Learn to use adjustment layers to create new looks. Give your photo that professional look even if the photo wasn't taken by a pro. Hello! I'm so excited about a new class I'm offering in December at Scrapbooks, Etc. It's listed on the calendar but somehow got missed in the class descriptions. No worries though. I can tell you all about it.

Create a 5x7 mini album using Bazzill Board and Plastic Paper along with tons of other Bazzill products. Where does the time go? We're already in September. It seems like just yesterday, we were planning our summer vacations and now they're gone. With the kids in school, it's the perfect time to take Conquer Your Computer. Tomorrow's class is full of Microsoft and Word tips and tricks to make your text projects a breeze. We'll be creating shapes, adding text, filling the shapes with solids, patterns and even photos! Have you wanted to type your text in a circle but didn't know how? Here's your chance to learn. Since this is an "instruction only" class, your projects will be taken as homework. Here's what you'll be making...
This A2 card is simple but shows you how you can create text in a circle to get your message across. We'll create this "Thinking of You" card but we'll also practice creating different shapes & styles for many more sentiments.
